The Mourning [A] BLKstar Residencies

Mourning [A] Blkstar is releasing a 5-part documentary series with a new episode dropping every Wednesday from November 11 through December 9. The band released their 5th studio album, The Cycle, with a good amount of positive national attention in May. After playing SXSW in 2019 and getting featured on NPR's All Song's Considered, M[A]B landed the cover of Wire in September.

All of those good vibes would have likely led to a pretty vigorous touring schedule this year, but there's a global health crisis and everything is terrible. Instead, the band received a grant from Spaces Gallery's Urgent Art Fund and did a residency series where the band played livestreamed shows at Mahall's, Beachland Ballroom, and The Grog Shop in Cleveland, and AVclub and Musica in Akron.

The first episode of the Residencies Docuseries sees the band revisiting its debut album, BLK MUSAK, on the stage of Beachland Ballroom. All 5 episodes can be purchased at the link below for $35.
